Facing the lack of information about my favorite musics, a brand new attempt to
link supporting peoples, music producers, labels, blah blah blah... easier than
printing fanzines that nobody reads.
As the year 2001 is close to its end, the question is still : are there other
persons on earth (& beyond) who enjoy both old gabba, non-commercial true
hardcore, speed-&-straight-core, harshbreaks, grinding sounds & pure sonic
energy?
Those who do will recognicize themselves, & are strongly invited to send me
their own reports, infos, reviews, opinions... or to build their own newsletter
& mail it to others (not too much difficult, it took me about 5 hours).

HARSH BREAKS PARTY - december the 1st 2001 - @ le Squat de le 13, Paris, France

Saturday, 12am : we were friendly (but firmly) invited by ripit (riposte
records) to drink some beers at his party... really nice, let's go! cheating the
train (the best way to travel in france don't u know?) made us arrive at the
beginning of the party, enough time to enjoy this nice squatted place,
hyperactive & friendly (hi sapiens!)... no muthafuckers here! first to play was
dj K.oz w/ a loud and deep harshambient set, using 4 or 5 sources... it could be
beautiful on a big rave soundsystem... hard way to start a party anyway... then
: hecate (zhark, praxis rec)... her sets are always as groovy & funky as her
trax are dark & cold... it sounded like some lettonian eurovision selection
contest, i must say (no lightshow, but a spicy choregraphy). follow m.a.t.t & c4
(fraktal/fraktion) for a long ping-pong dj-set... incredibly chaotic, i
recognicized some depeche mode stuff, lots of breaks... smily hours... for the
first time in paris, dj thyristor (hcn, zyklon b) played lots of his own label
exclusive stuff, mainly released by bwk, w/ additional strict hardcore. the best
of the party was the live-set of ripit, real harshbreaks, evolutive & violent
live rythmics w/ surprises to shake & open... at the morning, the party ended by
dj groin (soldakame), too much alcoholized to play well on two decks... we'll
come back!

STOP STAR WARS - "Quitter la Gravité" launchparty - december the 14th 2001 - @
le squat de le 13, Paris, France
Two weeks later, & after a strangely static station at 'thé-troc', we're back to
le squat de le 13, the nicest place in paris! fuckin cold night & no heating
system... no choice : eat spicy, drink hot & strong... first i thought it was
the lauching of the official aaa-drink : le 'café-cognac'... if it really was an
'AAA' (association of autonomous astronauts) party, i forgot to say : 'l'éclat'
editions prints out an anthology of some texts by well(or not)known autonomous
astronauts, incl. c.fringeli, j.skeet (aphasic), ewen xkv8, balli333, an
international & exhaustive compilation... sadly nobody cares about words, so
they had to make some noise to get public attention. the djs who impressed me
were 'toolsy' (aka kris from toolbox distribution) great selector & subtle
mixer, also sir fringeli who only plays white labels of the finest harshstep &
loud breakcore, & dj balli (sonic belligeranza, aaa333 bologna) upright from
italy for a more classical but enough disturbed breakz&core set... live-acts
were more chaotic, & unequal : shoots to 'the elektrokami' (aka zaïbatseries &
mayaku), distorted rock'n'roll crooner voices added w/ some apocalyptic kicks &
claps... i was deceived by 'ubris', proteiform project, here tonight w/ two
radiotuners, voice & distortion pads... linear harshnoise. the surprise was a
rooty-ragga-dj-set by ewen xkv8, finally investigating the free territories of
zouk?! despite of this hotfeeling, not enough people to really warm the place
up... so let's drink more... tomorrow will be harder!

ANTICARTEL 3 "hooligans not dead!" - december the 15th 2001 - @ le Jardin
Moderne, Rennes (35), France
The battle still rages on in the brittany city... more than biting the hand of
the monopolistic living-dead transmusicales, tha anticartel organization now
attacks le stade rennais (the local football club) itself! next time, guys, you
gotta shit on the socialist party... fuck 'dj mon hervé'! then, you will rule
the city (& then we'll bite you, cause we won't let ya become what you didn't
want to be... remember?).
We just arrived in rennes at early saturday afternoon (see report above!)... we
slept 2-3 hours, & then went to 'le jardin moderne' for the anticartel' hools
party... we weren't late, finally, the soundsystem only arrived at 10pm, because
of frozen roads...
About the main floor, i heard a very few... each time i went into it, i felt
like under neuroleptics... i don't know for u, but i hate this... except for
'k' (galette intégriste), who opened w/ a serious slow & broken set, a little
bit depressing, but interesting... so i decided to squat definitely the second
floor, softly waiting for a good sleep in a dark corner... 'elektroplasma'
(ytterbium) played his live, dunno good or bad, usual sounds... anyway, good
video performance, by the 'day blind' girl, she made an excellent job all night
long (including in her pictures some of mines, i was happy to see them moving at
last!). 'c4' (fraktion) played after, startin w/ huge breakcore to finish by
some malicious cutted-up speedcore... nice set, & nice boy. then 'slaaam' (peace
off) started his live-act, i only heard the 3-4 first trax, very offensive
punkbreaxxx as usual, but already known from me... new stuff was played i'm
sure, but i was not there, gettin some ***** & alcohol to keep myself looking
alive... then i just had an ear on 'm.a.t.t' (fraktal) set, dancefloor dedicated
hardcore... exciting like a building wall, boring & well done, nothing more to
say. serious things really began after, my friend 'didier pur' (8.5 rprezent)
was playing 3-decks-style speedcore, fast & dry asskickers w/ some polka &
half-speed hc anthems (think IS' nasenbluten's 'concrete compressor'...),
perfectly mixed... be sure at this time i was dancing like a possessed, too much
true force straightcore for oldscoolish gabber fans like me!... my fckopenhague
supporter shirt being too much wet & sticky, i left the floor for a few
minutes... when i came back, i was a little bit surprised to hear 'attila' (gast
ar c'hast) play slower, anyway perfect "mid-tempo" harshkoc'h set (it means
240-280 bpm...), melting the eternal trax (domine dimitri, praxis 7...) w/
futuristic strange core (i:gor, no name, his own releases...)... then it was
5.30am, 'dj khaoz' (or was he k.oz?), ytterbium/yb70 boss, was asked to vacate
the floor w/ totalharshnoize set... it only took 15 minutes.
Back to the main floor, just in time for 'dj scud' (ambush) - the wrong man in
the wrong place, it seems- annoying music, annoying human, no smile, no laugh...
fuck him, & let's book aphasic next time! i heard nothing from dj rupture' set,
some were deceived...'la peste' didn't come, sadly...
One more time, the real counterattack came from the 'small' (but equally sounded
as the main floor w/ 4kw rcf-process, ultra efficient) floor, while the main
floor was boring and soft and slow... some bad honky-techno was played, also
nonlethal breakbeats... welcome to the biggest tearoom ever!... i hope one day
anticartel' guys will understand where the energy is, & let the bigger
soundsystem & dancefloor for the real uncompromised sounds... it means grinding
industrial, shrillstep, straightspeedcore... & everything is between peace,
love, & unity !
So we'll be there next time... no compromise, no pity, no respect! hooligans
not dead...

SONIC BELLIGERANZA #02 - dj Balli & Mu B "transmutations ep"
"all vocals samplings on this record are taken from the legendary movie "the
tingler", 1959 by w.castle"... one more time, the use of significant vocals from
old horror movies over breaks & kicks... but where their first release was
clearly splitted ("comical/serious"), this second release is the "transmutation"
one, where dj balli fades into mu b, speedcore into breakcore... five tracks (+
intro by petravonkant, outro by elicotrema) from shining fast breakbeats, gothic
soundscapes, tracked into some 4/4 darkjungle, eruptive speedcore shots, always
w/ a specific blur on kicks & sharp edges... very good release again... warning
: in case you experience a "strange tingling sensation", scream as loud as you
can !!!

GLOBAL TERROR #02 - Passenger of Shit
six hc tracks, playable only at 45rpm, w/ strong analogic kickdrums & some
filter effects, very classical... it may be one more boring hc release, but here
the tracks are invaded by really angry vocals, & some strange melodies in back
of it... finally extremely powerful, and not too much subtle...

it seems that the aaa'mongoloids are everywhere now, let's hope their sexual
organs are dysfunctional, or the apocalypse is near... this one comes from
brittanny, only produces amiga rough tracks without sense, in some kind of
harshkoc'h, but more rude (if you can believe it)... he could cut a seagull to
bits with his rotten teeth, howling with pigs in the wildwestmoors, & then
destroy your brain with hysterical theories about space, revolution, humanity
and you (especially if you're a cute female)... take care : it is exactly how it
sounds like... 0% fashioned sounds!

the new peace off'release this time sets the well-known homosexual austrian
project against a new boy in the place, from usa... no one wins, both purpose
complex rythmics, dirtier for eiterherd, but not as hard as usual releases, much
in the vein of the zod#2... huge sound, as usual for the label, ultimate weapons
for weak hearted dancefloors... if you like it, xanopticon shall be released on
'mutant sniper' #1, new p'off sublabel - aliens only.

a beautiful compilation about biological research damages... read the text!14
musicians involved for this compilation, but only a few ones produced
interesting tracks... the most beautiful one is d'arcangelo's 'kennz', released
live in 1997, frightening soundscapes w/ concrete hammer... the rmx included as
a bonus track is more an adc-like, also excellent. another 'gothic' track is
'crystal gunkel' by san pedro... quiet organs, interrupted by noise shots, kicks
embryos... cold as hell. eiterherd produced the more violent track, mighty
distorted breakcore, reminding me the third widerstand or the '1984 vs
1999'lp... good... venetian snares'track is without surprise, welldone but
uninteresting, hecate's one starts good with dark voices, but falls into a
rythmic that wants to be violent, but is amazingly non-dynamic, runs to nowhere,
pathetically. mechanic willow produced a sharp junglecore track, very groovy &
efficient, but classical. other projects just do the same italian electro shit,
hear the pss2099 track : the same, always the same boring track... i'd rather
like to listen to pino d'angio, boy! well, i wanna hear next idroscalo releases,
& i hope they'll forget the 'roma sound' definitely.
